Toddler Ballroom & Me
A creative Ballroom and Latin dance class for toddlers and their caregivers, this class is tailored for 1 year old, 2 year old, and 3 year old toddlers with their parent or caregiver!
Siblings younger than 1 year old are welcome to join for free. This course will incorporate dance-based movements and offerings to help build your child's foundation for a lifetime of coordination, rhythm, and creativity.
(Toddler Ballroom & Me enrollment includes both the toddler and parent/caregiver)

This course is structured to inspire a love of dance and music while gaining balance, flexibility and coordination. Basic step patterns as well as quality of movement and musicality will be introduced. This class is taken independently, without the caregiver.

Take it to the next level for kids who thirst for more of the foundational step patterns of ballroom and Latin dancing. Step patterns are intertwined with stretching, dance games and rhythm challenges to keep the mood lively.

Pre-teens will learn various step patterns of Ballroom and Latin, taking it steps further than the basics and developing dance and movement skills in both solo and partnering positions. Stretching warmup and dance goals initiated to increase dancer's flexibility and dance abilities!
Bios
Werner Figar and Shimkiri have danced for over 20 years, and their titles include 3-Time Austrian Latin Champion, Edison Ballroom Champion, placing in the Top 30 at the World Championships, and Quarter Finalists at the UK Open and Paris Worlds out of over 300 couples. In addition, as instructors they have achieved World Championship status twice with their Pro-Am students.
They specialize in teaching a variety of partner dance styles for social, competitive, wedding, and families. They especially love International Latin as they competed and performed in together professionally. Shimkiri and Werner also own and manage their dance studio located in the NY/NJ metro area, Jersey City Ballroom.
All levels are welcome, and new students are welcome!
Our Offerings
We offer a range of programs for students of all ages and levels, from beginner to advanced. We believe that dance makes life better and hope that you will join us to move more on the dance floor!
Adult group classes and private lessons are held during the week, with group class workshops currently on Wednesdays and Thursdays and private lessons by appointment.
Classes for children and pre-teens are the Toddler Ballroom & Me classes for 1-3 year olds with their caregivers, Creative Ballroom & Latin for 3-5 year olds, Ballroom & Latin Foundations I for 5-7 year olds, and Ballroom & Latin Foundations II for 7-12 year olds. Lessons for ages 13-16 are by appointment, and/or can be considered for enrollment in the adult group class workshops.

Shimkiri and Werner Figar are professional ballroom dancers who have just moved to Sequim to raise their family and are excited to bring their love of dance to the Sequim and surrounding community!
Our mission is to provide our students with a fun and inspiring dance education that promotes creativity, self-expression, and self-confidence. We strive to create a nurturing environment where our students can develop their skills and achieve their goals.
We believe in a holistic approach to dance education, which includes not only technique but also creativity, musicality, and partnering skills. We are passionate about teaching and are dedicated to helping our students reach their full potential.
